Case studies / Website · Guest house

The seaside house that books itself.

Krinitsa, on the Black Sea. Three houses to rent, a short season, a sea that calls. The owner of a guest house didn’t want yet another online business card, nor to hand a slice of every night to the booking aggregators. He wanted a site that filled the rooms on its own. We built it for him — with a booking module entirely his and an area guide that makes you want to pack a bag.

The problem

A small business can’t give away 15% of every night.

Renting out two or three houses by the sea means living by the season: a few good months to make the whole year add up. And onto those months come the aggregators — they bring guests, but they take their commission on every booking, sometimes with a fixed fee on top. For a big chain that’s a rounding error; for a family guest house it’s the difference between a good season and a so-so one.

The site he had before was a business card: a few photos, a phone number, and anyone who wanted to book had to call — or, more often, went back to the aggregator. All the work of pulling people to the site ended up handing the booking to someone else.

Our answer

A site that doesn’t just show — it books and it sells.

We turned the business card into a tool that works. Two pieces set it apart from any old guest-house site: a booking module entirely his own, on his own domain, with no middleman; and an area guide with an itinerary planner that turns “just looking” into “I want to come here”. The first takes the booking, the second makes people want to book.

Booking module

A booking engine, without paying for a booking engine.

The heart of the project. The visitor picks one of the three houses — Remarka, House 2 or House 3 — sets the check-in and check-out dates and how many they are; the module works out the per-night price, adds the surcharge for the extra guest and shows the total, right there, without ever leaving the site. It does exactly what the paid systems like Bnovo do — but it’s our code on the client’s site, so there’s no subscription and, above all, no commission on each night. What used to go to the aggregator now stays in the owner’s pocket.

01Three houses, one module. Remarka, House 2 and House 3, each with its own per-night price and capacity.
02Dates and guests. Check-in, check-out and number of people; the total updates before your eyes.
03Transparent price. Per-night rate plus the extra-guest surcharge: no surprises when it’s time to confirm.
04Zero middlemen. The request goes straight to the owner, from his own domain, with no commission or fee.

Choose a house, pick check-in and check-out, set the number of guests, and the price works itself out — all on the site, like a paid system, without paying for one.

Area guide · the itinerary planner

Not “a room”, but a holiday already pictured.

People don’t book a room: they book a holiday. So, alongside the module, we built an itinerary planner. The visitor says how many days they have (from 1 to 3), who they’re travelling with, what pace they want and what interests them — and gets an itinerary tailored to them, with the places and things to do. It’s the kind of content guest-house sites almost never have: the sort that keeps you on the page, sets you daydreaming and walks you straight to the booking module.

Days, company, pace and interests: out of this comes a tailored itinerary. Next to it, the “What is Krinitsa” guide tells the place to anyone who’s never been.

The visitor builds their holiday by picking from the interests:

How it’s built

Solid stuff, hosted at home.

No external service to rent, no dependency that one day shuts down or hikes its price. The booking module and the itinerary planner are our own code, living on the client’s domain: he owns his tool, he doesn’t lease it. The site is built for the phone first, because that’s where nearly everyone looks for a house by the sea, and it’s designed to be found by people searching for Krinitsa itself.

The phases

From business card to a tool that sells.

Step by step, with nothing done twice: first understand the place and the houses, then show them well, then let people book, then make them dream.

01Listening and structure. The three houses, the prices, the season, and what people really come to Krinitsa for.
02The showcase site. The houses, the photos, the sea and the area — clear and lovely, on the phone above all.
03The booking module. Three houses, dates, guests, price and surcharges: on the site, with no middleman.
04Guide and itinerary planner. The content that holds and convinces, wired straight to the booking.
05Going live and polishing. Local search, speed and phone checks before opening the doors.
